Embroidery Project – Small Snail Purse/Bag with Vintage Snail Embroidery, “Sun Day” Snail Embroidery Part 10

“Sun Day”

The 5th of 6 snails for the “Snail Trail” purse.

The Sun Day snail has two shades of bright yellow blended for the stitching of the shell. It’s embroidered with stem stitch, backstitch, split backstitch, detached chain stitch, straight stitch, satin stitch, and French knot. The flowers are also done with two shade of pink blended for the blossoms. Here it is on white.

And here it is with the bright pink border.

For this snail, we found some little Mill Hill Glass Treasures to add as adornments to the flower Hakulei on the Sun Day snail’s head.

The Treasures are perfectly matched 5 petal mauve/purple flowers.

Here you can see the Treasures and compare them to the blossoms on the little plants.

One treasure is placed on her Hakulei the other is still off so you can see a comparison of the blossoms.

Here, both are placed on the Hakulei. They aren’t sewn on yet. The snail will have to be washed and blocked then the Treasures will be stitched onto the piece. (See Tutorials for Washing and Blocking; https://curiosities808.wordpress.com/tutorials/)

Here is a close up of the Sun Day snail. All dressed and ready to go…somewhere?!
